So this post is going to be focused on why I give the middle finger to Corporate America, and let me be the first to say that this post isn’t going to be a rant on Wal-Mart and all the sleezy messed up things corporations do, because personally I believe that without the corporations we wouldn’t have much of a life in America.

This post is going to be focused on the reasons why I don’t want to put myself through an extensive process to grabbing a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art, desk job, working nine to five at Price Water House Cooper making $55,000 a year plus benefits. To start my reasons why, I’m going to start with the first part of the extensive process.

Generation Y’s Goal? Wealth and Fame

Student EntrepreneursI just finished reading a book called, “Student Entrepreneurs - Graduating with a Profit” by Michael McMyne. Probably one of the most influential and inspiring books I have ever read. I try to read a lot of business/entrepreneurial books because I myself am an entrepreneur. However, I always find that most of the books are not directed towards me, that was until i found this book.

The book is actually is actually collection of stories about fourteen winners of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, recounting their inspiring ventures into setting up successful businesses while juggling all the demands of college. Illustrating the drive, dedication and desire these young people share, the diversity of their backgrounds, cultures, and ideas are also a part of these lessons on following their dreams.

We are Technology: Seriously, we have it all

In my research on us, “Generation Y”, I found some interesting facts, these facts have had me come to the conclusion that we are technology. It runs in our blood, it is on our focus everyday. Here are the facts about us:

* 97% of us own a computer
* 94% of us own a cell phone
* 76% of us use Instant Messaging.
* 15% of us IM users are logged on 24 hours a day/7 days a week
* 34% of us use websites as their primary source of news
* 28% of us own a blog and 44% read blogs
* 49% of us download music using peer-to-peer file sharing
* 75% of us college students have a Facebook account [23]
* 60% of us own some type of portable music and/or video device such as an iPod.
